IC Summit

Leading professionals from some of the world’s top companies will be sharing their internal communications experiences at a major event in London next month.

Thursday, 11th September 2008

This year's summit, organised by specialist IC knowledge bank Melcrum, will focus on providing techniques and tools to maximise the performance of internal communication.
Speakers at the conference are from some of the world’s largest companies including Britain’s largest supermarket chain, Tesco.

Head of Internal Communications, Greg Sage, in charge of communicating with the large and diverse workforce, will talk about the challenges faced by his team. They need to get news to 300,000 employees in the UK and 150,000 overseas, before they read it in newspapers, hear it from customers or see it on TV.

One of the tools in his armoury is a fortnightly tabloid newspaper The One, written and designed by communications agency Headlines Corporate News.

Greg’s session will cover this and other key communication channels used to reach the workforce.
Other summit speakers include: Johanna Komonen, Communications Manager, Nokia; IKEA UK’s Phil Rogers, HR Development Manager and Lois Blenkinsop, Internal Communication Manager; as well as Nicola Bowles, Head of Internal Communication and Public Relations Group, Foreign and Commonwealth Office; and Peter Jones, Corporate Communications Director, BUPA.

Practical advice will be offered on how to use leadership communication to create business advantage, engage a large, diverse workforce, recession-proof the communication function, and strengthen your internal brand.
